THE KING BLUES
Mr. Music Man
Format : CD Single
Catalogue # : HAUS086
Release Date : 27th November 2006
2006 was an amazing year for THE KING BLUES - in little over 10 months they went from regulars at squat shows and benefits in Hackney, East London to Reading/Leeds Festival via tours with Gogol Bordello, Capdown and The Slackers.
Plucked from their debut album "Under the Fog" (HAUS083CD) this is the track that started it all back as a demo in January 2006 Mr Music Man is now THE KING BLUES debut single.
First getting airplay as a scratchy 4 track demo on "Mike Davies' Lock Up show" on Radio 1, "Mr. Music Man" has travelled as far as THE KING BLUES in the last few months with airplay on Zane Lowe (first as a demo then as a re-recorded album track), a session version and even more play on The Lock Up then travelling to receive airplay in Germany, Canada.
The band have also picked up a great deal of radio play on US radio like the legendary Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles where it has been featured on both on UK Specialist Indie Breakthrough Show "Passport Control with Sat Bisla", as well Joe Sib from Side One Dummy Records punk show "Complete Control Radio" which is pretty huge for an import album track.
Now remixed by Emre Ramazanoglu (who worked on the Mercury Prize nominated album "Beloved One" by Lou Rhodes) this wonderfully bright summer pop/reggae tune is sure brighten up the cold November air.
The 3 track CD also features a brand new song "If Genghis Khan then Why Can't I?" and a chance to own the previously unreleased demo version and the video of the band's world record breaking attempt on Status Quo's most gigs played in a day(4 shows).
THE KING BLUES played 7 gigs in 24 hours filming the amazing event with one camera, one driver and an old ambulance driving from London to Scotland via the Midlands and a few wrong turns back to London again in 24 hours with the footage for an aweseome video(!).....
