Socially aware skapunk is the order of the day from BIG D AND THE KIDS TABLE whose 1st track 'LA.X' is a cutting attack on the posers in punkrock today. Recently re-recorded for the 2005 album "How It Goes" (Moon Ska Records) this is the orginal snarling version and it still features quite possibly the most swearing ever in a song yet still managed to be played uncut on Radio One's The Lock Up Show!! This 5 minute epic seems even more relevant today than this 5 year old recording had ever feared..... They also turn in an excellent version of the Ministry classic 'Thieves' which sits very comfortably next to the original. Bristol's emerging young guns FIVE KNUCKLE are much more of a hardcore proposition. They come on like a 'pop thrash metal' Minor Threat with amazing snotty vocals & great social & personal lyrics. This was thefollow up to their 'All Ages'ep shows a marked progression into their own individual sound & features two tracks unavailable anywhere else. |
