 FIVE KNUCKLE All Ages EP Format : CD Catalogue # : HAUS042 Release Date : April 2001 FIVE KNUCKLE formed in Bristol in 1998. Vocalist Dan and drummer Shaun cut their musical teeth even earlier in teenage punk band HEADCASE(a trio completed by Toby - now vocalist in Bristol hardcore act AKO), producing two singles on Trash City Records which became single of the week in both KERRANG! and MELODY MAKER when they were just 14! They teamed up with bassist Jojo, and guitarists Edd, Tom (and later with Saul) producing a sound is influenced by a wide range of punk and hardcore music including CHOKING VICTIM, ENSIGN and VOODOO GLOW SKULLS. Their second recording ALL AGES was to gain them a higher profile, getting an enthusiastic response from zines, labels, and venues. This led to support slots with US bands such as ska-band MUSTARD PLUG in London, where HOUSEHOLD NAME RECORDS offered them a chance to go on tour with the UK's premier ska-punk band CAPDOWN. "They combined Shutdown-esque squealing vocals, with mainly hardcore and metal and even some elements of ska to produce a truly unique noise. Some of their instrumental parts were incredibly atmospheric, and I found myself wanting more by the time they left the stage.
